Role Overview

A1M Solutions is seeking a Data Analyst with strong experience working with large healthcare datasets—particularly CMS data, Medicare Part B and Part D, and the Integrated Data Repository (IDR). This role focuses on performing complex data extraction, analysis, and interpretation to support a federal healthcare client’s program integrity, evaluation, and operational decision-making needs.

The ideal candidate brings deep analytical expertise, strong SQL and Python skills, and a consultative mindset. You will work closely with auditors, investigators, evaluators, product teams, and other stakeholders to translate business questions into structured analyses and deliver clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct ad hoc analytics related to prescription drugs, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and other Medicare/Medicaid program areas.
Build complex SQL queries to access, extract, and analyze data from large and complex data systems, including CMS IDR.
Transform, cleanse, and validate datasets using SQL or Python.
QA code and analytical outputs developed by team members.
Develop a deep understanding of client business objectives by eliciting and analyzing requirements.
Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches.
Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Document analytical processes, methodologies, and outcomes.
Demonstrate understanding of relational databases, data architecture, and data modeling.
Create conceptual models, entity relationship diagrams, and business process visualizations.
Apply basic dashboarding and data storytelling principles using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Leverage subject matter expertise in Medicare, Medicaid, and healthcare analytics.
Maintain coding standards, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Apply Agile values and practices when collaborating with teams.
Active participation in client virtual meetings—including being on camera—is an essential function that helps strengthen trust and open communication.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree.
5+ years of experience in IT, data analysis, or a related field.
Prior experience working with CMS data, including CMS IDR, Medicare Part B & Part D.
Intermediate to advanced SQL and Python skills.
Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
Must reside and have worked in the United States for 3 of the past 5 years.
Must have permanent U.S. work authorization.
Must reside outside New York State.
Flexibility to collaborate with partners primarily operating in Eastern Time.

Preferred

Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of statistics or experience with statistical analysis.
Experience helping clients make data-driven decisions.
Intermediate experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

This is a full-time, remote position.

The project-based rate compensation will range from $95,000- $110,000 depending on experience.
