Technical Requirements

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of automation testing experience with demonstrated expertise in:
- Robot Framework (Preferred) or equivalent enterprise-level frameworks
- Multiple automation tools (Cypress, Selenium Grid/Selenoid, Playwright, Appium)
- Test framework architecture and design patterns
3+ years of team leadership or mentoring experience
Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python strongly preferred, plus Java/JavaScript/C#)
Enterprise-level experience with:
- CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
- Cloud testing platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Technical Leadership Skills:

Experience designing and implementing automation strategies at scale
Proficiency with test management and reporting tools
Knowledge of performance and security testing integration
Experience with microservices and API testing architectures
Database testing and data management expertise

Required Leadership Experience:

Team Management: Experience leading teams of 3-8 engineers
Strategic Planning: Proven track record of automation roadmap development
Stakeholder Management: Experience presenting to C-level executives
Process Optimization: History of implementing process improvements that resulted in measurable efficiency gains

Nice to Have:

DevOps/Platform Engineering background
Experience with test data management and environment provisioning
Mobile automation at enterprise scale
Certifications in relevant technologies (ISTQB, AWS, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

Design and architect enterprise-scale automation testing strategies
Lead the evolution of automation frameworks and infrastructure
Establish coding standards, best practices, and quality gates
Drive adoption of emerging testing technologies and methodologies
Oversee integration of automation with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of automation engineers
Conduct performance reviews and create individual development plans
Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
Recruit and onboard new team members
Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration

Strategic Initiatives:

Collaborate with Product, Development, and QA leadership on testing strategy
Define and track key performance indicators for automation effectiveness
Present automation metrics and ROI to executive leadership
Drive process improvements and efficiency optimizations
Represent the automation team in architectural and technical planning discussions

Hands-on Technical Work:

Review and approve complex automation implementations
Troubleshoot critical automation failures and performance issues
Participate in technical design reviews and architectural decisions
Maintain expertise in latest testing tools and industry trends

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field
Master's degree preferred or equivalent senior-level practical experience
Minimum 5-7 years of automation testing experience
Minimum 2-3 years of formal leadership experience
