ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Senior Geospatial Engineer, you will work in a high-impact technical team, developing cutting-edge solutions for satellite-based risk monitoring. You will drive AI-powered remote sensing initiatives, work closely with product and engineering teams, and ensure that our geospatial analytics remain best-in-class.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership

Lead research and development in remote sensing, geospatial analytics, and AI-driven Earth Observation.
Develop machine learning models for vegetation monitoring, ground deformation analysis (InSAR), and predictive risk assessments.
Oversee geospatial data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration of Sentinel-1/2, SAR, optical and hyperspectral datasets.

Team & Project Management

Ensure smooth collaboration between R&D, product, and sales teams, translating technical insights into business value.
Own the strategic roadmap for geospatial AI within Spotlite’s platform.

Industry & Business Alignment

Align geospatial solutions with transportation, energy, and infrastructure industry needs.
Engage with clients, partners, and stakeholders, acting as the geospatial domain expert.
Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging AI techniques in remote sensing.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS

Technical Expert:

4+ years in remote sensing, GIS, or Earth Observation.
Strong background in machine learning/deep learning applied to geospatial data.
Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, QGIS.Innovative Problem-Solver:
Hands-on experience with geospatial AI applications (e.g., change detection, object segmentation, predictive risk modeling).
Ability to develop scalable geospatial data pipelines for satellite-based monitoring.

Leader & Communicator:

Previous experience working in geospatial teams or research projects.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Nice to have

Experience in infrastructure monitoring, transportation, or energy sectors
Knowledge of SAR/InSAR for ground deformation analysis
Experience integrating geospatial AI into SaaS platforms
